### Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST , Position Description Number D1065000 and is part of the MS AASF 3, in the MS National Guard.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

### Responsibilities
Develops the AASF Quality Management Plan (QMP) that documents the management and operational policies and procedures to ensure work processes, products, or services satisfy expectations and quality standards.
Serves as quality assurance authority in the AASF. Acts as a consultant to higher-ranking personnel on quality assurance/verification matters. Provides the Logistics Management Officer/Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot and maintenance supervisors with definitive technical information and advice on maintenance procedures and techniques. Resolves technical problems in support of the quality assurance program.
Maintains the AASF master library. Manages technical publications accounts. Ensures that appropriate directives and operating instructions are current and complete. Reviews incoming publications to determine their applicability. Provides technical guidance and expertise in interpretation of technical manuals (TM), and acts as the authoritative reference on quality methods, techniques, and procedures. Resolves conflicts in the interpretation of published data.
Performs command directed quality inspections and special inspections for all aspects of aircraft and associated equipment. Insures that compliance inspections are performed in accordance with standards. Records discrepancies, provides definitive corrective recommendations, and reviews adequacy of corrective action taken.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
Military Grades: E1 - E9
Compatible Military Assignments: 94E or 94R
Non-possession of the required MOS is not a disqualifying factor. However, if selected for this position, it will require the incumbent selected to obtain/maintain a compatible MOS. Incumbent must also be assigned to a compatible unit.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
4. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

General Experience:**
Serve as the Quality Assurance Representative for the AASF
***Specialized Experience***:
Must have 24 months experience performing command directed quality inspections and special inspections for all aspects of aircraft and associated equipment. Must have experience in performing management and compliance reviews over a wide range of functions within the AASF and reporting deviations and deficiencies. Must be able to wear appropriate PPP and observe all safety precautions while accomplishing inspections. Must have experience in Conducting formal training of quality assurance and quality compliance principles, procedures, techniques, and skills and providing initial training for the certification of status symbol clearing authority. Provides refresher training for the maintenance of AASF quality standards. Must have knowledge of operating practices and procedures related to the maintenance of aircraft, systems and components and the skill to verify, by work document review, material and procedure checks and onsite surveillance, that essential quality requirements have been met.
