Progresive Solutions LLC, located in 805 Decatur St, Newton, MS 39345, has 23 job openings for FT temporary Landscaping and Groundskeeping workers as Brush Clearers starting 6/1/2018 and ending approximately 11/15/2018. No experience necessary, no minimum education required; applicant must be 18 yrs of age and complete company application. Progressive Solutions maintains a drug free workplace & workers may be subject to post-employment drug testing as required by government contracts.Work consists of using backpacks to apply herbicides and using other tools to control vegetation in right of way, rangeland, wildlife areas, industrial sites, and other sites. After 3 wks of training, trainee must be able to identify plants, follow established procedures, & properly apply herbicide mixtures at a minimum of 20 gal. per day. Job requires physical stamina to walk 10 miles/day over rough terrain, carrying 35lbs of equipment, in adverse conditions (hot weather, poisonous plants, insects, and snakes); extensive travel required. Employment will start in Newton, MS at an hourly wage of $11.00 where trainees will undergo paid training. Trainee must travel to designated location independently and attend all training. Company will provide training & pay test fees for applicator certification. All equipment provided by employer at no cost to the worker. Employer offers optional transportation to the trainees from designated rally location to daily job sites & between work locations: MS, IA IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MO, NE, OH, PA, TN, VA, WI, WV, LA, TX, MD, AR, OK, NM, and AZ.Work Period lasting approximately 5 months from 6/1/2018 to 11/15/2018 througout all areas of intended employment in MS, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MO, NE, OH, PA, TN, VA, WI, WV, LA, TX, MD, AR, OK, NM, and AZ.Employer will pay the cost of lodging to the extent such costs would reduce pay below the offerd wage rate for the intended area of employment. H2b trainees will be reimbursed in the first work week for all visa, via processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred (except passport fees). Travel expenses and subsistence from the place of recruitment to first work site will be reimbursed sixth 6th) pay period or at 50% completion of the work period, whichever is least. Upon completion of the work period or where the trainee is dismissed earlier, employer will arrange and pay for transportation and subsistence back to place of departure, except, where the trainee will note return due to subsquent employment with another employer or voluntary abandonment of employment. The paid expenses for transportation shall be equal to the costs charged by the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence pay for inbound and outbound travel shall be at least $12.07 per day without receipts or a maximum of $51 per day with receipts. Hourly wages vary depending on work location as established by Dept. of Labor prevailing wage rates: MS: $11.00-12.96, IA: $11.40-14.66, IL: $12.31-15.93, IN: $11.38-13.80, KS: 11.56-13.79, KY: $11.00-13.76, MI: $11.00-14.78, MO: $11.13-13.81, NE: $11.86; OH: $11.00-13.39; PA: $11.31-14.11, TN: $11.05-16.09, VA: $11.00-14.78, WI: $11.49, WV: $11.00-14.70, LA: $11.00-14.65, TX: $11.00-15.26, MD: $11.73-13.83, AR: $11.00-12.96, OK: $11.00-12.26, NM: $11.00-12.26, NM: $11.00-12.29, and AZ: $11.92-12.75. Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus based on total wages upon completion of work. Basic employment is 40 hours per week, M-F, 7:00am to 4:00pm; but weekly work hours can fluctuate due to weather & contract schedules with some Sat and Sun required.
