The **Support Services Center **supports the other four divisions and regional Fleet and Family Readiness Service Centers through a consolidation of management support functions, such as NAF financial management, marketing, training, NAF human resources, facilities and acquisition, information technology, and management evaluation and assistance.
**Navy Wounded Warrior - Safe Harbor **coordinates the non-medical care of seriously wounded, ill and injured Sailors and Coast Guardsmen, and provides resources and support to their families and offers individually-tailored assistance to ensure enrollees' successful recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration.

### Responsibilities
**I. INTRODUCTION: **This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, NAS Meridian, MS. Incumbent is responsible for the administration, operation and maintenance to provide social and recreational facilities, essential and nonessential meals, and refreshments. The purpose of this position is to provide direct supervision of the Food and Beverage services. This position will oversee the Rudders Pub & Grill and catering. Incumbent will supervise approximately 10 - 20 employees consisting of food service workers, bartenders.
**II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:**Under the direction of the MWR Recreation Director incumbent plans, monitors, directs and administers policies, programs and goals, for all snack operations and catering. Hires, trains, and motivates employees for quality service to authorized patrons and their guest. Interfaces with other managers in the planning programs, menus and internal controls necessary for a viable and successful operation. Monitors programs on a regular basis and initiates corrective action to ensure support of MWR programs. Develops long-range plans in line with departmental goals, and exercised internal personnel management. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Responsible on a day-to-day basis for food and bar controls and managing operational costs.
Incumbent is responsible for managing cost of goods, labor, food waste and spoilage to budgeted targets. Develops and maintains stock control, stock levels and daily inventories. Prepares marketing lists, determines food and beverage requirements and related supplies. Develops and maintains standardized recipes on batch and item cost control with recommended selling prices. Inspects deliveries to qualify and quantity. Maintains accountability of food and beverage equipment and supplies. Maintain sanitation and health inspection standards.
Keeps abreast of the technical advances in food and beverage equipment and preparation procedures. Plans, review, approves and prices the menus. Determines prices for any special functions. Reviews party contracts and determines food and bar requirements and assures that arrangements are provided as contracted. Plans for the utilization of food and beverage products to minimize surpluses or leftovers. Checks methods of preparation, size of portions and appearance. Conducts food and bar inventories as required.
Trains and directs supervision of subordinates and oversees the assignment of their duties. Assists in the evaluation of employee performance and requests for required personnel actions.
Develops an income, expense and capital expenditure budget for the food and beverage operations.
Must have a knowledge of formal military protocol, courtesies and social amenities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

### Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Three years' experience that demonstrates management skills involving planning, coordinating, and directing diversified food service operations.
* A thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends and make improvements.
* Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with superiors, subordinates, vendors, and the public. Must have oral and written communication skills, and the ability to evaluate, negotiate and determine potentially successful vendors.
* Must have knowledge of club management procedures and operational management of social and recreational programs and effective utilization of facilities and equipment.
* Must be skilled in developing directives, instructions, and procedure concerning the administration of social and recreation activities and utilization of the resources; conducting surveys and audits to identify program deficiencies; determining the impact of changes to the services provided the patron community and repairs to the facilities and equipment, or other corrective measures; and coordinating the scheduling or implementing the work with other organizational activities.
* Knowledge of cost and funding control procedures and skill in the maintenance and control of expenditures to ensure limitations are observed.
* Knowledge of social and recreational program planning requirement and skill in developing recommendations and justifications for major modifications to the food and beverage activities.
* Knowledge of SAP/similar accounting procedures sufficient to follow individual funds from initiation through expenditure stages in order to trace discrepancies in the system.
* Knowledge and understanding of the regulations and guides to interpret and apply them to a variety of accounting situations.
* Knowledge of integrated cost control procedures and financial systems including KRONOS Timekeeping and SAP accounting or other similar financial systems.
