Job Summary:

DIRECTOR OF WEBTRITION. This position can reside anywhere in the Continental USA within a one hour commuting distance to a major international airport.

Under the direction of the VP of Wellness and Sustainability, develops, implements, and evaluates the Chartwells K12 Webtrition software program and related nutrition and compliance initiatives.


+ Manages Webtrition implementation, training, maintenance, and measurement.

+ Collaborates with operations and resource teams to implement purchasing, recipe, menu, and training programs that meet Chartwells nutrition guidelines, regulatory standards and district food cost goals.

+ Supports strategic purchasing initiatives.

+ Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to manage the implementation of Webtrition, including improving process and/or efficiencies and day-to-day management and issue resolution, and leads future developments to address business needs.

+ Manages Webtrition integration with Chartwells' online menu platform, Nutrislice, to assure accuracy, issue resolution, prioritize development, and implement new software features in coordination with Webtrition and Nutrislice development teams.

+ Supports culinary and Foodbuy projects pertaining to products, procedures, and Webtrition use.

+ Collaborates with culinary and Foodbuy to develop and implement strategic purchasing initiatives.

+ Oversees the implementation of Webtrition, including improving process and/or efficiencies and day-to-day management and issue resolution, and future developments to address business needs.

+ Other duties as assigned within scope of responsibility.


+ Collaborates with nutrition team on activities and training to maintain compliance with all applicable policies and regulations relating to Webtrition.

+ Leads nutrition audit of Webtrition utilization by the field and works with nutrition and operations teams to assist with continuous improvement program.

+ Leads technical nutritional and regulatory review of ingredients, recipes, and menus and develops nutritional and regulatory specifications for new and current products as needed that satisfy the division nutritional, operational and financial goals.

+ Oversees maintenance of computerized database of menus, recipes, and ingredients and regularly audits for quality and compliance.

+ Oversees software submissions to USDA to ensure continued software approval.

Training & Education

+ Creates content for Chartwells nutrition and compliance training as assigned.

+ Collaborates with nutrition team to implement nutrition and compliance training.


+ Maintains knowledge of current nutrition and regulatory topics and trends, and interprets science and regulations to Chartwells and school districts as needed.

+ Manages relationship and communication between Webtrition and Nutrislice to maintain accurate Nutrislice information for the public.


+ Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related degree from an accredited institution required.

+ Master's degree in Nutrition or related field strongly preferred.

+ Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.

+ Current Licensures/Certifications from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and State Licensure where applicable required.

+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Dietitian required.

+ Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience required.

+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing recipe databases and electronic menu management systems required.

+ Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the food service industry required.

+ Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience required.

+ Experience supporting nutrition related software development required.

+ Proven ability to effectively plan, implement, and complete large, complex projects, particularly those involving a medium to significant degree of change across the organization required.

+ Demonstrated success with large group public speaking and group training preferred.

+ Experience working in multi-unit foodservice or similar type accounts in education preferred.

+ Experience working with USDA guidelines or other regulatory standards preferred.
